This is a battery theme I created for myself and thought I’d share with the world. I posted it to reddit and it blew up pretty quickly! At the same time I submitted it to be added to Cydia through the ModMyi repo. It went live somewhere around 2PM today and has already been downloaded over 670 times. The theme is called “thezoob Battery Blue” and you can find it on Cydia!

Of course I use Cinema4D to create it. Lighting done using GSG HDR Studio rig.

A little change of pace here. This is a rendering of a light fixture that I’m currently in the process of designing. My day job is working for a company that manufactures Light poles and fixtures where most of my days are spent doing boring stuff like making Spec Sheets for customers, figuring out why the printer isn’t working, and browsing reddit. But sometimes I get to do cool things like design my own fixture! This is a sample render that I did for a customer in C4D but I’m in the process of building it in Autodesk Inventor.

Cinema 4D R13, does a superb job creating depth of field with the Physical renderer but it takes much longer to render and can’t be changed on the fly. When I was messing around with Photoshop CS6 I chanced upon the Tilt-Shift Blur under Filter>Blur. I messed around with it and man does it make realistic blur effects. See for yourself in the example Photo above that has a side by side comparison. On the left is the screencapped image rendered without depth of field in C4D, and on the right is the same image with the Tilt-shift blur applied in Photoshop. I think I’m going to like CS6!
